AT&T Internet 25 is an internet protocol broadband (IPBB) plan that provides the threshold download speed recommended by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for broadband connectivity.

Its upload rate is, however, 1 Mbps lower than the minimum speed required for a smooth online experience. Internet 25 is faster than AT&T’s legacy DSL plans as it is delivered to your home using a combination of fiber and copper technologies.

The plan, with 25 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload speeds, can support the online activities of general internet users. And even though it has a monthly data cap of 1.5 TB, AT&T Internet 25 is sufficient for small households with 3 to 4 devices. Moreover, it doesn’t require a 1-year commitment.

How Fast is 25 Mbps Internet?

A 25 Mbps Internet is fast enough to support the basic requirements of most online applications and casual users. With this connection, you can download a 1 GB file in 5 minutes, a 2 GB software in approximately 11 minutes, and experience smooth streaming in high definition.

But keep in mind that these estimates are based on ideal conditions, such as no network congestion and bandwidth sharing with others. Your actual online experience will depend on the type of internet connection, available internet providers, and the number of internet users at your home.

Is AT&T Internet 25 Good for Gaming?

AT&T Internet 25 is ideal for playing most games. Although its download speed is higher than the FCC’s recommended rate for gaming, several factors, such as latency rate, gaming habits, and bandwidth sharing, can negatively impact your gameplay.

So, this plan is only suitable for casual gamers. If you love competitive games and have to share your bandwidth with multiple family members, you should subscribe to a faster plan.
